ABC Issues First Two Canadian Business Publication Multimedia Reports

lire en francaisTORONTO (Aug. 17, 2011)—The Audit Bureau of Circulations announced today the release of its first two Multimedia Publisher’s Statements for the Canadian market. The inaugural reports feature Canadian Underwriter and Oral Health, both part of Business Information Group. These multimedia reports are enhanced ABC Publisher’s Statements that feature a variety of digital metrics alongside ABC’s traditional print circulation information for business publications.

Canadian Underwriter MMR

“As digital media evolves and plays a larger role in publishers’ distribution strategy, ABC is looking to the future with customizable reports that showcase a publication’s entire brand reach and provide media buyers with comparable, verified information,” noted ABC Canada’s Joan Brehl, vice president and general manager, brand leadership and innovation. “The Canadian Underwriter and Oral Health reports demonstrate the unique ability of business publications to reach their target audiences on multiple platforms, and I applaud BIG for seeing the value of such a message.”

In addition to independently verified print circulation data, the reports for Canadian Underwriter and Oral Health also display audited website usage statistics, including unique users and page impressions, and e-newsletter delivery rates.

Canadian Underwriter’s report shows its total average qualified paid and nonpaid circulation is nearly 13,000. It reaches nearly 32,000 unique users each month via its website and more than 22,000 subscribers in its e-mail database.

Oral Health

Steve Wilson, senior publisher, Canadian Underwriter – Insurance Media Group, Business Information Group, explained, “Given the continued growth of our online product offerings and their related metrics, being able to capture this multimedia data within a Publisher’s Statement is of great value to our clients—especially those participating in both print and online advertising.”

The report for Oral Health lists its monthly unique users at nearly 19,000 and its e-newsletter subscribers at 11,000 with more than 21,000 qualified paid and nonpaid circulation.

Melissa Summerfield, senior group publisher, Oral Health Group, said, “We are very excited to be bringing audited web traffic, e-newsletter and circulation information to the marketplace in a single, consolidated statement. I believe our clients will appreciate seeing the potential to reach the dental profession and marketplace via multiple channels with fully audited statistics.”

Today’s release of the first Canadian business publication multimedia reports comes just months after ABC issued its first Canadian newspaper Consolidated Media Report for the National Post. That report featured multiple print and digital distribution channels, including print circulation, website usage data, mobile app downloads, social media metrics and more.

The Multimedia Publisher’s Statement is ABC’s flexible, customizable report for U.S. and Canadian business publications that may feature a variety of audited print and digital metrics. In the U.S., ABC has released 42 multimedia reports for 14 titles.
